Tir Prince has made betting history as William Hill decided to accept ante post bets on the Crock of Gold series being run on Saturday 21st July.
commented “We believe the collaboration between licensed bookmaker Barry Pinnington and ourselves by offering ante post bets on the Crock of Gold from over a week before the race, has created enough interest that William Hill has picked up on it. There has been no communication between us and William Hill and whilst harness racing has not gained financially from the venture, I believe this shows they have confidence in harness racing at Tir Prince. I would urge caution not to get carried away with this but it it could be a small, but important step forward. I have always believed that the future of the sport would be better served with quality free for all racing as opposed to big handicaps but this view is shared by very few in the sport.”
