There will be seven races on Monday evening starting at 7.30pm with the last 3 races live on TV on the Rasus programme ((.30pm until 10.30 pm).
There will be no Welsh Cup heat but there is a wonderful heat of the Crock of Gold with record breaker Earned Income returning to Tir Prince after its success in the Crock of Gold final last year. It is nice to see Connors Dragon return after a long lay off and there are 8 other great horses in the race.
We have probably the finest field of trotters assembled this year for a One Mile Trot in memory of George Dixon, the prize money of £1900 will be supplemented by a further £500 for the winner if the UK record of 1 minute 59.8 seconds is broken. the three favorites are likely to be Uffra’s Girl who has won very impressively in its last two races here, Stas Hazelhaar which has not shown its best form yet this year and the current record holder Need For Run.
There is also a One Mile Preferred Free for All for the Len Bach Trophy with 9 horses entered, Ayr Mission has shown true class at Tir Prince winning twice in the last 2 weeks but this week may be a stiffer test with amongst others Harbinger, Dillingers Dream, Howards Contender, My Immortal added to the mix and 2nd last week Caenwood Beachgirl will be looking for revenge.
In the other races there are a number of young horses to look out for including Lyons Erryl Hall and Rhyds Trickster going head to head and in race 3 another Hasty Hall progeny Oakview Duke going for a hat trick of wins in its first 3 races although Oakview Princess a winner here last week may have something to say about it.
